Ms. Negar Rafikian, has senior Human Resources experience within global organization-both private and public sector-with extensive experience in change management, effectiveness of organizations and its leadership, adaptive challenges and patterns, the accountabilities and strategic decision-making that would produce results and impact, and the larger systems success/failure and paradigm changes.
She started her career in the private sector, and led the direct functional areas of HR Operations and Change Management, during which time she managed major re-engineering, retraining and rightsizing efforts during an international Bank’s merger and acquisition ensuring line of sight with the business shift and market focus. She moved on to support the United Nations leading the Five-Year strategic plan in partnership with the UN Leaders focusing on the business alignment and its talents ability to deliver on the promise made with an organization under the fire by its Member States demanding performance and transparency. She joined the institutional modernization efforts at WFP, and its organizational separation from FAO. Ms. Rafikian joined the World Bank HR Vice Presidency engaging with Poverty Reduction Economic Management Network, Latin and Central America Region and Finance Complex/Corporate Teams, followed by a unique opportunity to lead the Fragile and Conflict-Affected States efforts in HR. She also led the Bank Change Center of Expertise, Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness, with three distinct Practices: Advisory, Leadership, and Knowledge -with a focus in creating flagship Emerging and Managerial Leadership Programs and for the very first time opening the sessions to IFIs, United Nations System, the Federal Reserve Bank, and engaging with over fifty Central Banks on customized change management interventions as part of her start-up of fee-for-service for HR products. She extended partnership with OPCS in order to bring the Bank’s country and sectoral leadership to the table for decision-making on critical matters on behalf of the HR Vice President. Ms. Rafikian is presently managing the WB Corporate- Global HR Business Partners Team. Ms. Rafikian serves as a member of the Bank’s Emergency (Crisis) Management Team. She also helped create the first International Human Capital Management Executive Education program with Wharton and AHRMIO where she serves as the Bank Advisory Member, Board Member-at-large, and Vice-Chair. She has also volunteered at the NY Blood Drive, United Way, Community Connection, and the United State Naval Sea Cadet as Leadership Instructor.
Ms. Rafikian holds Bachelor, Master of Science and Post Masters degrees from The New School University (For Social Research) in Human Resources and Organization Development and Transformation.
